Donating an object

How to donate an object to the Fusilier Museum

Donations process

What we collect
The Fusilier Museum London is very grateful to those who give us objects and ephemera to add to our collection. We are obliged to make sure that every acquisition is in line with our collection policy, and that we have the resources to conserve and store each item properly. As a result, it is not always possible for us to accept donations of objects. However, in the event that we cannot accommodate your donation, we may be able to suggest an alternative recipient, so please do contact us if you have something you would like to give.

What we need to know
We ask all potential donors to provide as much information as possible about their items:

  • What is being offered - preferably an itemised list including title, description and date (where known).
  • Provenance - Where did the items come from? How did you come by them? Can you confirm you or the legal owner would be happy to transfer ownership of the item permanently to the Fusilier Museum London?
  • History - What can you tell us about the original owner (if anything)?
  • Images - photographs or scans help us to assess condition and content.
